NordicTrack T 9.5 S Review 2021

          Our Rating: 4.7/5

The most expensive treadmill in NordicTrack’s T series lineup, the T 9.5 S comes with a gargantuan 14″ large touchscreen display, making this treadmill a wonderful option for those looking to get lost in their workout.

The NordicTrack T 9.5 S is much more than just a pretty face, however, which you can read all about in our below review.

Build Quality

If you like the cream of the crop, when it comes to the NordicTrack T Series, the T 9.5 S is the top model of a lineup designed for more attainable cost than their pricier commercial incline treadmills.

Furthermore, if speed is what you’re after, this ramped up 3.6 CHP DurX Commercial Plus Motor will get you where you need to be when it comes to your fitness routine. With a speeds up to 12 mph and incline capability up to 12%, you’ll be on the fast track to getting that heart rate up. As your blood flows, the EKG GripPulse will ensure accurate reading for you to track your body’s reaction to your movement.

Making NordicTrack thoughtful in their creation of the T 9.5 treadmill is the Interactive Drive System which calls upon the power of two motors to automatically cool down the motor, ultimately curtailing vibration while also allowing for their iFit trainers to lead your workouts remotely, meaning you won’t have to fuss with altering speed or incline yourself while taking a class. After all, NordicTrack is about calling on technology to make life simpler for the user so you can focus on your workout without distraction.

The T 9.5 S treadmill comes with FlexSelect Cushioning, which allows you to choose whether you prefer a more cushioned deck or not while walking or running so you can meet how your joints feel that day with options. An increased running surface from the cheapest T Series model, the T 9.5 S gives you a roomier run with its 20” x 60” commercial tread belt.

The EasyLift Assist saves you floor space by allowing you to fold up the running deck for supreme storage. The NordicTrack T 9.5 S treadmill is a solid consideration if you’re looking for slightly more motor power than the T 8.5 S model.

Where the NordicTrack T 9.5 S treadmill outshines the lower T Series T 8.5 S treadmill most is the 40% larger HD touchscreen. Increasing from the 10-inch screen size of both the T 6.5 Si and T 8.5 S, the 14-inch HD display of the T 9.5 S treadmill makes it a much more expansively beautiful workout experience. Adding to this, rather than throwing your center of gravity off by pushing hard to press buttons, the touch-screen technology makes your workout that much more effortless with low pressure swipes of your finger.

In addition to the increased display size, the T 9.5 S also has a higher quality bluetooth capability than the T 8.5 S, as it comes with next-gen Bluetooth for wire free connection to your tablet or phones.

A 1-year free subscription to NordicTrack’s renowned iFit programming grants you personal training access to over 16,000 streaming workouts, inclusive of fresh daily workouts and lifestyle coaching beyond your sweat as nutrition, sleep and routine guidance is also provided. Each iFit membership enables four users to access endless and creative workouts so you and your household won’t get bored easily. If you have the travel bug, nothing beats iFit’s stunning ability to use Google Maps technology place your exercise anywhere in the world. Seeing the sights without leaving your home is what makes the 14-inch HD screen worth its larger price tag.

Should you opt out of a live studio session and choose to listen to music instead, the 2” digitally amplified speakers have you and your playlist covered when it comes to crisp sound. Not to mention, the auto-breeze workout fan will cool you down as your activity heats up. The NordicTrack T 9.5 S treadmill is a better option for those who believe screen size matters as it’s the only treadmill within the T Series to come with a 14-inch HD touchscreen display.

Price Point

Cost is something we all worry when organizing our budget and making large wellness investments, like that of a treadmill. When it comes to the three models in the NordicTrack T Series, as the top model, the T 9.5 S treadmill understandably costs the most.

NordicTrack’s purpose for creating the T Series was to grant further access to their technology and well-built treadmills without the cost of having the commercial incline and decline abilities their more costly treadmills have. With still a 12% incline, the T 9.5 S comes with enough climb for those used to traditional treadmills, such as the ones gyms have.

However, if you’re a dedicated fitness buff looking to challenge yourself to greater heights, the more expensive NordicTrack Commercial X11 i treadmill might be a better option. With a smaller screen but more motor power than the T 9.5 S, the X11 i truly takes activity to the next level with a 40% incline and -6 decline.

However, if you’re looking to be more budget friendly than the T 9.5 S, we’d recommend opting for the middle of the road T 8.5 S as the most noticeable difference is a smaller screen size, yet a lower cost. Overall, the NordicTrack T 9.5 S does come with a 40% larger screen than both the T 8.5 S and T 6.5 Si, so if that’s worth the extra cost, go for it!

Pros and Cons

We like to keep things simple around here. As consumers ourselves, the question we always ask when researching products to buy is what makes this option different from its competitors. If you’re a technology buff, NordicTrack is the right brand for you.

That being said, if you’re looking to get a workout in without the futuristic bells and whistles such as live studio classes and a touchscreen display, looking into a Sole or Horizon treadmill (we’d recommend the Sole F85) would certainly be more cost-effective. Yet, if technology is your thing but breaking the bank isn’t, we’d recommend going for the less costly NordicTrack T 8.5 S treadmill over the T 9.5 S.

Saving you hundreds, the T 8.5 S comes with a 10-inch HD display rather than the 14-inch HD display the top of its class T 9.5 S features. When it comes to motor power, you’ll scarcely notice a difference between the 3.5 CHP DurX Commercial Plus Motor the T 8.5 S has versus the slightly boosted 3.6 CHP DurX Commercial Plus motor the T 9.5 S is equipped with.

Otherwise, both treadmills have bluetooth capability, the same access to iFit technology, 0-12 mph speed range, 12% incline, dual 2” speakers, an auto-breeze workout fan, warranty coverage, a 1.9” roller size, and SpaceSaver design with EasyLift Access. Sacrificing on screen size will save you from spending hundreds of dollars more when opting for the T 8.5 S treadmill over the T 9.5 S.

However, if you are planning on investing in an iFit membership beyond the 1-year free subscription provided, we think the larger screen size on the NordicTrack T 9.5 S is certainly worth the price as a larger display will make studio sessions and Google Maps technology (so you can travel the world from your treadmill) feel much more immersive.

Warranty and Guarantee

Coming with the same coverage offered on the cheaper T 8.5 S treadmill, the T 9.5 S holds true to NordicTrack’s less than stellar coverage. With a 10-year frame warranty which pales in comparison to both Sole and Horizon’s lifetime frame coverage, we’re not impressed. The 2-years parts warranty and 1-year labor warranty settles us down as it’s comparable to competing brands.

When considering a pricier investment, you’d hope for the most coverage possible but truth be told, NordicTrack frames are built tough, which is why we’d like to see additional coverage to back up their renowned quality as we don’t think build structure will be a concern throughout the years. However, you just never know and that unknowing is something to weigh in while considering the options available for treadmills today.

That being said, another consideration is making sure your treadmill technology is not dated and with NordicTrack, this will never be a concern as their treadmills are impressively technologically advanced. Adding to this, NordicTrack meets your personal uncertainty with a 30-day return policy, allowing you ample time to take the T 9.5 S treadmill out for a test drive to ensure it’s the best fit. We certainly appreciate this!

Summing Up This Review

Overall, the NordicTrack T 9.5 S treadmill is a dynamic choice to arouse the forward thinker in you with its innovative technology and offering of Google Maps utilization through their iFit membership, meaning you can run around the globe and see the sights without ever leaving your home.

Ideal for those opting to pay additionally for the iFit membership beyond it’s free year of trial, the NordicTrack 9.5 S treadmill’s 14-inch large HD touchscreen display will make working out a more exciting experience beyond your wildest routine dreams.
