Our Rating: 4.4/5
A step up from LifeSpan’s cheapest treadmill option, the TR2000e is a solid treadmill for walkers or light joggers that aren’t looking for a workhorse of a treadmill.
A relatively unique feature to LifeSpan, this particular treadmill has the ability to fold up electrically, making it an excellent choice for those who may not have the upper body strength of yesteryear, or those with upper body injuries.
With human creativity and progressive growth, our world is expanding into a place where it has become more commonplace to have technology do things on our behalf. Whether it’s swapping the rummaging of pages in a hefty encyclopedia for a quick Google search, presetting your coffee to start brewing before you’ve woken up or unlocking your vehicle from inside your house, convenience is priority these days.
Our society values the opportunity to save time and physical exertion so we can shift our focus to things that matter more than nominal tasks. That same mentality shouldn’t be sacrificed when it comes to your home treadmill, which is why we were thrilled to see that LifeSpan created an electric folding treadmill. At the touch of a button, this space saving treadmill will fold up compactly and completely on its own, safeguarding your body from exertion beyond your workout.
Keeping your muscles from straining even further are the 8 independent compression shocks within the deck suspension that greatly reduce harmful impact to your body, better preventing aches and injury post sweat. With the LifeSpan TR2000e Electric Folding treadmill, the safety assurance doesn’t stop there. What makes LifeSpan such a family-focused company is the extra mile they take when it comes to ensuring this large motorized machine within your home won’t cause harm to your loved ones.
Of great importance as it relates to child, pet and safety for all are the ETL/ETLc, CE, and FCC certifications the TR2000e Electric Folding treadmill has. Safety certifications mean you can worry less about the strength and power behind the 3/4-inch phenolic deck and 800 pounds maximum lift incline motor, which grants 15 levels of incline to work with, and focus more on your workout itself.
Adding to this, a speed range of 0.5-11 mph will have you moving on the durable 2-ply at a good pace. Speaking to the belt’s lasting construction are the two 2.5” front and 2” rear rollers, whose large size and helpful placement will reduce belt stretching and overall treadmill strain.
And once again, safety is made a top priority, as the plastic side rails are non-slip, meaning you can find your balance without fear of falling during the stopping and starting of the TR2000e Electric Folding Treadmill.
LifeSpan took the importance of saving time, space and energy and merged them together thoughtfully in the form of their EFold folding technology. Keeping you from exerting too much effort before and after your work, the unique EFold technology calls upon electrical power to unfold and fold your treadmill, simply by pressing a button. This forward-thinking mechanism is a gift to those who have a hard time lifting things and is a great benefit if you’re planning on consistently storing your treadmill upright post workout.
Finding a home treadmill that has a decent variety of preset workout programs without paying expensive yearly membership fee, such as NordicTrack requires you to do to access their iFit programming, can pose a challenge. Thankfully, LifeSpan loaded the TR2000e Electric Folding Treadmill with 17 preset workouts; seven sports training, five healthy living, and five weight management workouts are categorized so you can zero in on what you’d like to focus on.
That being said, the vast workout programming doesn’t stop there, as in addition to the 17 workout programs, there are two heart rate programs as well as two customized user programs. We find great benefit in being able to customize a workout to our preference, so we were thrilled to see not just one, but two opportunities to do so with the TR2000e.
In total, the 21 distinct workouts, two of which you can create yourself, will allow you to take hold of your weight and fitness goals as they shift throughout the years and help to ward off mundane treadmill monotony. Contrastingly, the Sole Fitness F63 treadmill, while ringing in a bit cheaper than the TR2000e Electric Folding Treadmill, only offers 10 total preset programs.
When it comes to display, the TR2000e Electric Folding Treadmill was built in a way that is straight and to the point, promoting workout clarity and simple user navigation over distractingly audacious size. The 6” blue backlit LCD display provides a calming effect that you can depend on with its simultaneous readouts. Here, you can easily sort through different exercise programs and any personal data you upload from the helpful USB Plus port. Multi-functional, the USB Plus port will also charge your mobile devices so they won’t burn out as you feel the burn.
Once again, the theme of supreme safety is on full display, as the LifeSpan TR2000e Electric Folding treadmill has patented Intelli-Guard technology that pauses the belt immediately after you step off of it. Adding to this, you can leave your pedometer on the counter, as the built-in Intelli-Step ensures the miles you’re logging are accurate and being perfectly tracked.
Speaking further to the benefit of built-in features is the audio center, which has built-in speakers and an auxiliary jack so you can feel the true engagement of your treadmill. The optional Bluetooth brings the TR2000e Electric Folding Treadmill up to date should you rather connect wirelessly to the speakers in order to boost the sound of your fun jams, motivational podcasts or entertaining shows as you get that heart rate up. Speaking of which, keeping you abreast of where that heart rate is at are the contact heart rate sensors.
While not insanely forward thinking on the technology front like the NordicTrack T 6.5s is, the LifeSpan TR2000e Electric Folding Treadmill swaps out costly technology memberships (we’re looking at you NordicTrack) and large screens for convenience and a one time investment that will provide a more straightforward and steady workout for years to come.
The most beaming aspect of LifeSpan, beyond their extensive safety features, is their low price point and unmatched warranty coverage, meaning you can rest assured you’re getting a treadmill built to last for a lifetime.
The second cheapest treadmill LifeSpan has, there is such an insignificant difference cost-wise compared to the slightly more budget-friendly LifeSpan TR2000i Folding Treadmill. A little more money will get you a step up in features far worthy of the small price increase.
While holding the same 2.5 HP Continuous-Duty Motor DC motor, 0.5-11 mph speed range and 15 levels of incline, the TR2000e Electric Folding treadmill comes with automatic folding at the press of a button, something that the TR2000i does not provide.
Furthermore, the TR2000e Electric Folding Treadmill comes with a lifetime motor warranty, compared to the 5-year warranty on the TR2000i. In addition, an increased weight limit from the 200 pound capacity provided by the TR2000i folding treadmill by 100 pounds to meet the TR2000e electric folding treadmill’s 300 pound weight capacity makes it a sturdier option all around.
When compared to other brands, the LifeSpan TR2000e stacks up to its competition. The insanely more expensive (we’re talking over double the cost) Life Fitness F3 Folding Treadmill, while packing 0.5 hp more motor power, only comes with 12 workout programs and two custom ones, and no electronic folding capability. You can rest assured that the LifeSpan TR2000e Electric Folding Treadmill gives you a great deal of bang for your buck.
Pros and Cons
When it comes to weighing your options, acknowledging both the good and the bad is the most well-rounded approach you can take.
Should you enjoy streaming workout classes online, watching a show or reading while you hit your stride, the Media Holder makes doing so handsfree a possibility. However, placing your smart device on the media holder unfortunately will block your accessibility to viewing your workout statistics, as it’s placed directly in front of the 6” LCD display.
Furthermore, the USB Plus port is not inclusive to all smart devices as unfortunately it will not charge an iPad 1, 2 or 3, so if you have these specific models and enjoy watching movies during a long walk and are fearful of running out of battery, this is something to be mindful of.
Also, if handsfree heart rate tracking is of importance to you, it should be noted that the TR2000e Electric Folding Treadmill does not provide optional chest strap compatibility, only contact heart rate sensors.
Something else to diligently factor into your thought process is the low power of the 2.5 HP Continuous-Duty Motor. While supremely built for enhanced and sincere longevity, 2.5 horsepower is geared towards walkers and light joggers. If you’re interested in a treadmill that provides more power, but can’t stretch your wallet too far, the Horizon T303 gives you 3.0 HP recommended for light running.
Should you be a sprinter, looking into the Sole F80 treadmill’s 3.5 hp might be your bread and butter. Yet, the Sole F80 comes at a higher price and does not provide the electronic folding capabilities of the TR2000e Electric Folding Treadmill. Not only is the LifeSpan TR2000e effortless to fold up with a simple touch of a button, but the 4 wheels placed at the front and 2 wheels located in the back make it easy to move about the room with little strength required.
A max user weight of 300 pounds is far more inclusive than the little brother Lifespan TR1200i Folding treadmill, which unfortunately limits user weight to 200 pounds. When it comes to safety, strength of build, and incredible warranty coverage the LifeSpan TR2000e makes you into quite the savvy treadmill consumer.

Warranty and Guarantee
LifeSpan backs the build of their treadmills up far more than competitors such as NordicTrack. The TR2000e verifies your investment is sound with a lifetime deck and motor warranty; it truly doesn’t get any better than that my friends. This type of coverage, especially on a motor, is priceless due to the unwavering peace of mind it provides.
In addition, treadmill parts will be covered for 5-years and labor coverage is provided for 1-year. When it comes to trusted treadmill purchases, the LifeSpan TR2000e gets a solid score from us.
Summing Up This Review
If you’re a walker, light jogger or one-person household, the TR2000e is a sincerely wonderful option. Should you be injury prone or struggle with back pain yet need to store your treadmill upright for the sake of space, there’s no other way to go than to opt for an electronically folding treadmill.
The LifeSpan TR2000e Electric Folding Treadmill provides the warranty coverage, low price point, safety and durability needed to be the long-lasting and steady treadmill you’d want to make a long-term investment in.
